Franklin Morris II, our health food store manager, has a passion for doing community waffle breakfasts at his church. People enjoy the food, fellowship, mini health presentations, and waffle breakfast bags filled with Christ centered health education. His 4 ingredient waffle recipe is simple but very tasty; on October 4, 2013, he posted a viral YouTube video of how to make them, which has generated over 8,193 views and 135 likes. People across country have enjoyed his waffle recipe.
Franklin started doing his waffle breakfasts just for three workers at Wellness Secrets on Sunday mornings, but in the past 2 1/2 years, this small act of hospitality has expanded outside of the boarders of his home kitchen. Several churches in the United States have embraced the idea of hosting community waffle breakfasts, and Wellness Secrets has been instrumental in starting a community waffle breakfast in Arkansas. Here is Franklin’s Crowd Pleasing, Vegan Waffle Recipe:
Place in a blender and blend:
2 1/2 c. water
3 c. rolled oats
1 ripe banana
1 tsp. salt
Place mixture in a sprayed waffle iron for 6 to 8 minutes or until it’s done.
Variation: Add 1 extra ripe banana and 1 tsp. of vanilla to the blended mixture.
